2020 iPad Pro 12.9-inch versus 2019 MacBook Pro 13-inch
March 31st, 2020 by rob-ART morgan, mad scientist
Two years ago, we shocked the Mac community when we showed the iPad Pro beating the best 13-inch MacBook Pro. Guess what? We are back with another shocker.
GRAPH LEGEND
iPad Pro 4th Gen = A12Z Bionic chip with Neural Engine
iPad Pro 3rd Gen = A12X Bionic chip with Neural Engine
MacBook Pro 13-inch = Intel Core i7-8569U 2.8GHz Quad-Core processor, Iris Plus Graphics 655
Geekbench 5 - Multi-Core CPU
(HIGHER Score = FASTER)
Geekbench 5 - Metal GPU
(HIGHER Score = FASTER)
WHAT DID WE LEARN?
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro 3rd and 4th generations run Multi-Core CPU and Metal GPU functions faster than the fastest Mid 2019 MacBook Pro 13-inch. Allow that to sink in.
And it is a fair fight since Geekbench 5 builds both iOS and macOS version using the same source code.
