Have you wondered what Turbo Boost does to performance?
(screenshot of CPU Frequency from Intel Power Gadget)

Turbo Boost ON - iMac Pro* running Cinebench CPU render with Turbo Boost enabled
Turbo Boost OFF - iMac Pro* running Cinebench CPU render with Turbo Boost disabled
*iMac Pro specs: 3.2GHz 8-Core Xeon W-2140B CPU, 32GB of 2666MHz DDR4 ECC SDRAM, Radeon Pro Vega 64 (16G) GPU
Cinebench Multi-Core CPU Render (HIGHER Score = FASTER)
Cinebench Single-Core CPU Render (HIGHER Score = FASTER)
GPU Clock Speed Gain with Turbo Boost ON (HIGHER GHz = FASTER)
WHAT DID WE CONCLUDE?
The iMac Pro gains as much as 27% in performance when Turbo Boost is enabled. (We used Turbo Boost Switcher to disable Turbo Boost for the comparison.)
We used Intel Power Gadget to monitor CPU frequency. We never saw the 4.2Hz GHz Turbo Boost frequency listed on the iMac Pro 8-core's specifications page.
