Of The Fastest Ultra ATA-100 Drives Runs Best In A

WORLD TESTS BENCHMARKS CONCLUSIONS Based
on my results, the IBM Deskstar 120GXP
performs as fast or faster than any of the other
tested Ultra ATA drives when put in a FireWire
case kit. However,
the WD1200JB, a "tiger" on an ATA-100 adapter,
becomes a "kitten" in a FireWire case. And the
8MB buffer appears to lose its advantage over
the "BB" model with 2MB buffer. However,
if you plan to move the drive back and forth
between the FireWire case and an internal Ultra
ATA interface, the Western Digital
Caviar
WD1200JB
would be the best choice. Why? Check out my

for that drive on an ATA-100
