Super Blade Flash Storage Upgrade
for MacBook Air

We recently reported on the Trans International Flash Storage upgrade, "Super Blade," installed in late model MacBook Pros and Mac Pros. This week we installed the Super Blade in a 'mid 2013' MacBook Air.
mba 512G Super Blade = 1TB TransIntl Super Blade SSD flash storage in 'mid 2013' MacBook Air
mba 256G Factory = 256GB Apple factory flash storage in 'mid 2013' MacBook Air
nMP 1TB Super Blade = 1TB TransIntl Super Blade SSD flash storage in 'late 2013' Mac Pro
nMP 512G Factory = 512GB Apple factory flash storage in 'late 2013' Mac Pro
LARGE SEQUENTIAL TRANSFER TEST
We used AJA System Test to benchmark file level sequential transfer speed using a 16GB test size. (LONGEST graph bar means the fastest overall in Megabytes per Second.)
SMALL RANDOM TRANSFER TEST
The QuickBench small random test uses 4K to 1024K test sizes. Though large sequential benchmarks are impressive, OS X and many apps perform small random read/write actions. (LONGEST graph bar means the fastest overall in Megabytes per Second.)
WHAT DID WE LEARN?
Your MacBook Air with 128G or 256G flash storage can easily receive a storage upgrade that increases both SPEED and CAPACITY, thereby extending its useful life.
Why did we compare the 'mid 2013' MacBook Air with the 'late 2013' Mac Pro? To demonstrate that the Super Blade brings 'pro' storage performance to the MacBook Air.
